Ph.D. Ganebnykh Ilya -
Phone: +7 (343) 374-35-56

The LC/MS group acts as a part of a Joint-Use Center of the Ural Branch of RAS  "Сenter for Spectroscopy and Analysis of Organic Compounds" established in the Postovsky Institute of Organic Synthesis UB RAS

Contacts: phone +7 (343) 362-34-56; room N407-b

Activities: analytic studies and research

Research trends and tasks

  • Current problems in chemistry, including elucidation of nano-sized materials

  • Elaboration and comprehensive standardization of quantitative methods for analysis of organics compounds; identification of the structure of target products and intermediates of fine organic synthesis; separation of complex mixtures and identification of individual components

Equipment

Shimadzu LCMS-2010

  • HRMS instrument coupled with UPLC system designed for scientific and analytical purposes. Ionization methods: ESI/APCI/APPI; registration of positive or negative ions, profile and centroid scanning with high resolution, mass accuracy better than 2 ppm, MS/MS capabilities.

Also two single-quadruple GC/MS instruments are available for analysis, which work in the Laboratory of fluoro organic compounds. These are Agilent 7890A system ("Agilent Technologies", USA) and Thermo Scientific Trace GC Ultra DSQ II ("Thermo Fisher Scientific", USA).

Provided services:

Services in mass-spectrometry researches for organizations are available through the Joint-Use Center of the Ural Branch of RAS  "Center for Spectroscopy and Analysis of Organic Compounds".

  • Overview mass-spectrum with basic parameters (one ionization type, one ion polarity, fixed parameters)

  • Overview mass-spectrum (extended registration with optimization of parameters etc.)

  • LC/MS experiment with basic or custom parameters (requires basic mass-spectrum)

Quantitative analysis require calibration, so standard samples should be provided for an experiment. Statistically reliable results can be only obtained after a series of measurements.
