Pestov Alexander Viktorovich graduated from the Department of Organic Chemistry of the Gorky Ural State University. He got the bachelor of chemistry diploma with excellent in 2002 and the magister of chemistry diploma with excellent in 2004. He was enrolled in the postgraduate school of the I. Ya. Postovsky Institute of Organic Synthesis of UB RAS in 2004, and he defended his thesis for the degree of Ph.D. (specialty 02.00.03 - organic chemistry) on the theme: «N-(2-carboxyethyl) chitosan: synthesis, properties, and application" ahead of schedule in 2007. At the present time he continues to work at the Institute as a senior researcher of the Laboratory of Organic Materials. He was the Academician P. P. Shorygin Prize winner for the best development in hitinology and repeated winner of the grant competition of the Russian Federation President.

 

Research directions, objectives, results

 

• Modern problems of materials chemistry, including the development of magneto materials, nanomaterials and pharmacologically active substances new generation, chemical aspects of environmental management.

• Creation of new substances and materials based on coordination compounds of d-and f-metals, processing products of organic substances, organometallic oligomers and functionalized polymers.

• Developments:

      o the methodology of polymer reactions in the gel;

      o the concept of the getting of adhesives and sealants with high adhesion to metal surfaces;

      o new sorption materials based on functional derivatives of artificial, synthetic and silicone polymers;

      o new organic ligands allowing to obtain the cluster complexes of d-metals.
